Archiving (Backing-Up) a Telephone System Database
  1. Start the System Administrator.
  2. Click System -> Connect or the icon to connect to the DSX system.
  3. Wait a few seconds for essential system data to download to your PC.
  4. Click System -> Retrieve to download the entire site database to your PC
    • The entire connected system's database will download to your PC in about 90 seconds (USB or Ethernet).
  5. Once the download is complete, click File -> Save As or the icon to save the database to a file on your PC hard disk.
    • By default, the database (*.dsx) files are saved to the following directory:
      C:/Program Files/NEC/DSX/System Administrator
Using Admin to Set the Time and Date
 
  1. Start the System Administrator.
  2. Click System -> Connect or the icon to connect to the DSX system.
  3. Wait a few seconds for essential system data to download to your PC.
  4. In the System Con fig: Setup screen, do one of the following:
    • Click Synchronize to PC Time to send your PC time and date to the DSX system.
    • Click Set to send the time and date selected in the Setup screen Time and Date drop-downs to the DSX system.
Do not interrupt an upload.
 
  1. When uploading (sending) a database to the DSX system, do not intentionally disconnect the System Administrator session. If you do:
    • Only the changes sent prior to the disconnect will be in the telephone system.
    • The telephone system will be in an "unknown" state, with a portion of the uploaded data and a portion of its original data.
  2. If you do this, to prevent system inspiration you should reconnect and upload the entire saved database.
