System Software 01.01.34

Software version 01.01.34 corrects a potential single line telephone ringing problem on DSX-40. It makes no changes to DSX-80/160 other than the version number.

System Software 01.01.33

Software version 01.01.33 is a replacement for Field Trial version 01.01.32 inadvertently reintroduced the "Clicking and Popping" problem on outside calls.

System Software 01.01.32

Software version 01.01.32 provides the following.

  1. An extension can have multiple DSS Consoles, each with unique key programming.
  2. Off-Hook Ringing (if enabled in programming) will function while a DSX keyset is in the Handsfree mode.
System Software 01.01.30

Software version 01.01.30 is a replacement for General Sales Release version 01.01.29 inadvertently reintroduced the "Clicking and Popping" problem on outside calls.

System Software 01.01.29

Software version 01.01.29 provides the following.

  1. A Speed Dial bin will now correctly handle a stored Flash command to allow Centrex transfer.
  2. Fax Detection is improved.
System Software 01.01.27

Software version 01.01.27 provides the following.

  1. To help minimize field complaints of hot side tone, handset transmit volume in all DSX keysets has been lowered 4 dB in accordance with recent TOLR (Transmit Objective Loudness Rating) testing.
  2. Various improvements in system software decrease the likelihood of occasional phantom ringing.
  3. The default setting in 3103-03: Loop Length is changed to 'Long' for compatibility with the majority of installations.
  4. Caller ID Callback is now fully functional over PRI lines.
  5. The IntraMail Message Retention feature is now available. Although previously documented, Message Retention was not functional in prior software versions.
System Software 01.01.21

Software version 01.01.21 provides the following.

  1. Reduction in the DSX keyset receive volume in accordance with the latest ROLR (Receive Objective Loudness Rating) testing.
  2. Primary Rate Interface (PRI) support for the DSX T1/PRI PCB (P/N 1091006).

Primary Rate Interface Description

Outgoing Caller ID (CID)

Outgoing Caller ID (CID) on a PRI line is provided by interaction among the system telephone number, the PRI line outgoing CID number, and the extension's outgoing ANI number. Here's how it works:

  • The system's outgoing Caller ID is initially provided by the system telephone number.
  • If a PRI line has its own outgoing CID number programmed, the system uses that number instead.
  • If an extension in turn has outgoing ANI programmed, the system will overlay the ANI over the system's telephone number or the line outgoing CID number (depending on programming).

Outgoing Caller ID (CID) Example

In this example:

  • The system number is 203-926-5400.
  • PRI line 1 is the only line with an an outgoing CID number (203-926-6400).
  • Extension 302 is the only extension with an outgoing ANI entry (302).

For outgoing PRI calls:

  • All outgoing PRI calls (except line 1 and extension 302) use 203-926-5400.
  • All outgoing PRI calls on line 1 (except for extension 302) use 203-926-6400.
  • An outgoing PRI call from extension 302 (except on line 1) uses 203-926-5302.
  • An outgoing PRI call on line 1 from extension 302 uses 203-926-6302.

Basic Setup

1211-01: Card Type
The T1/PRI PCB will auto-ID as circuit type 06.

1213-07: T1/PRI Signaling Type
Set the T1/PRI signaling type. The options are:
0 = T1 (Do not select for PRI)
1 = NI-2 (ISDN NI-2)
2 = DMS-100 (ISDN DMS-100)

1213-08: PRI Overlap Dialing
Use this option to enable or disable PRI Overlap Dialing. Normally, you should disable this option since Overlap Dialing is generally not available in North America. The options are:
0 = No (Overlap Dialing disabled)
1 = Yes (Overlap Dialing enabled)

1602-01: Interdigit Timer
When placing a manually-dialed PRI call, the system waits for the Interdigit Time after the user completes dialing before sending the call over the PRI line. By default, this interval is 6 seconds but can be customized if required. Note that Speed Dial, Last Number Redial, and Save Number Dialed calls are sent immediately (without the interdigit delay).

To have the manually-dialed call sent immediately, the user just dials # after the last digit of their outgoing number.

Programming for Outgoing Caller ID (CID)

1011-02: System Telephone Number
Enter the system telephone number (up to 18 digits). This will be the outgoing CID number unless overwritten by the line or extension programming below.

3101-07: Calling Party ID Telephone Number
For this line, the system will use the number stored in this option (up to 18 digits) for outgoing CID unless modified by extension programming below.

2101-05: Outgoing ANI ID
For PRI calls, this option specifies the number that will overlay (replace) the last digits of the outgoing CID number (up to 4 digits). For example:
1. If the system number is 203-926-5400 (set in 1011-02: System Telephone Number),
2. And the entry for this option is 302.
3. And there is no override set in 3101-07: Calling Party ID Telephone Number,
4. The outgoing CID number will be 203-9026-5302.

DSX provides individual En-bloc dialing for PRI lines which makes the operation of PRI essentially transparent to the user. It is not necessary to enable Store and Forward for PRI lines to facilitate En-bloc dialing.

Software Version 01.01.18

Software version 01.01.18 provides the following.

  1. A potential reset problem when installing the 2PGDAD Module.
  2. Enhanced Hotline Surfing, which allows the user to consecutively press Hotline keys without putting the prior call on Hold.
  3. Numerous minor display corrections.
Software Version 01.01.10

Software version 01.01.10 provides the following.

  1. New DSP code to correct occasional "clicking and popping on outside calls" reported from the field.
Software Version 01.01.07

Software version 01.01.07 provides the following.

  1. Compatibility with DSX T1/PRI PCB (P/N 1091006) for T1 services only. PRI is not supported in this software.
Software Version 01.00.08

Software version 01.00.08 provides the following.

  1. This software makes additional improvements to Caller ID detection to further improve Caller ID noise immunity.
  2. A potential system reset caused by recording a message while the IntraMail CompactFlash card is completely full is corrected.
  3. An additional IntraMail reset issue is addressed. This could occur in prior versions if an extension user deleted a message while it was being left by an outside caller.
Software Version 01.00.06

DSX software version 01.00.06 provides the following.

  1. By enhancing noise immunity on incoming calls, the performance of Caller ID detection is improved.
  2. Transmit and receive volume for the DSX Cordless Lite II Telephone is increased 4dB.
