DSX System Software Release Notes (Version 2)
System Software Version 2.25

Software version 2.25 provides an additional correction for the Music on Hold (for Transferred Calls) issue initially addressed in version 2.24.

System Software Version 2.24

Software version 2.24 provides the following enhancements:

    • Program 1213-09: Force In-band has been added for PRI trunks. When enabled, the system forces speech path cut through before being indicated by the service provider. This option is helpful if the service provider does not correctly provide the command to cut through the speech path. By default, this option is disabled.
    • Version 2.24 contains updated PRI firmware version 4.2. This firmware correctly
handles a Progress Indication Information Element when it is contained within an Alerting message.
    • For more on ISDN PRI, click here.
  2. Direct Inward Lines (and Voice Mail)
    • Software version 2.24 corrects a problem that could cause outside calls to route to the wrong mailbox if the Night or Overflow Destination is set to Voice Mail.
  3. Music on Hold (for Transferred Calls)
    • Software version 2.24 prevents a short burst of Music on Hold that could occur while the user was setting up a Transfer. Music on Hold for Transferred Calls will play to the outside caller only after the user has completed the Transfer steps.
System Software Version 2.22

Software version 2.22 provides the following enhancements:

  1. Corrects a potential Message on Hold lockup problem.
  2. The performance of Call Waiting with Caller ID is additionally improved.
System Software Version 2.18

Software version 2.18 provides the following enhancements:

  1. Several important enhancements are added for the Super Display Telephone with Full-Duplex Speakerphone (P/Ns 1090023 and 1090028).
    • Full-duplex operation is automatically disabled for incoming voice-announced Intercom calls. Full-duplex operation is not required for these types of calls.
    • For environments where high background noise makes full-duplex operation undesirable, disable full-duplex operation in program 2112-07: Disable Full Duplex Handsfree. Enter 1 to disable full-duplex operation. Enter 0 to enable full-duplex operation.
  2. Feature keys are now available for Intercom (29) and Flash (30) functions. The primary purpose of these keys is to enable additional features on the Cordless Lite II telephone.
    • The Intercom key allows the cordless user to pick up a call on Intercom Hold. It also allows the user to get Intercom dial tone if they have a Prime Line to an outside line.
    • The Flash key allows the cordless user to easily pick up a waiting call when Call Waiting with Caller ID is provided. It also allows the cordless user to control a Door Box relay.
  1. The performance of Call Waiting with Caller ID has been improved
System Software Version 2.14

Call Waiting with Caller ID Support

DSX now supports the telco's Call Waiting with Caller ID feature. If enabled for the line, a caller busy on an outside call:

  1. Hears the telco Call Waiting tone.
  2. Sees the Caller ID for the waiting call in the telephone display.
  3. Can press FLASH to switch between their current call and the waiting call.

With software version 2.14, this feature is available to keysets and the Cordless Lite II telephone. (Note that this feature was always available at single line telephones.)

3121-01: Caller ID Type

Select DSP + CW (4) for each line that should support the telco's Call Waiting with Caller ID feature.

System Administrator IntraMail Backup/Restore/Import Utility

System software version 2.14 also supports the IntraMail Backup/Restore/Import Utility now available in System Administrator version 2.19. This utility allows you to backup and restore your IntraMail messages and greetings, as well is import custom-recorded wav files.

If you want to use this utility, you must use System Software 2.14 and System Administrator 2.19 (minimum).

System Software Version 2.11

Software version 2.11 corrects the following:

  1. A potential reset when a PGDAD module is programmed for BGM Over Page but not actually installed.
  2. A minor issue with the message count display when listening to messages that were recorded between 10 and 15 days ago.
  3. An improvement to the Volume Control preset to more accurately show the stored volume level.
System Software Version 2.06

This software version adds the following:

  1. POP3 Login for the Email Notification feature (see below).
  2. A correction to Daylight Saving Time so the switch to Standard Time occurs on the correct date.
  3. Additional corrections to improve the performance of Email Notification.

POP3 Login

Email Integration is now enhanced with support for POP3 Login. The logic of this method is that it allows a user to send e-mail from any location, as long as they can demonstrably also fetch their mail from the same place. Check with your email provider to see if this type of login is required.

1105-05: SMTP Authentication

Use this option to set the authentication type. For POP3 Authentication, enter 2. The options are:

  • 0 for None
  • 1 for SMTP Authentication Enabled
  • 2 for POP3 Authentication Enabled (If you choose this option, set 1106-04 and 1106-05 also.)

  • 0 (SSL disabled)
  • 1 (SSL enabled).

1106-04: POP3 User Name

System Software Version 2.03

Software version 2.03 makes several important enhancements and corrections to the initial Version 2 release 2.01.

DHCP Support

Manually Set IP Settings Retained After Version Upgrade

If upgrading from system software version 1.xx.xx to version 2.xx, the system preserves the following settings:

    • IP Address (1104-01)
    • Subnet Mask (1104-02)
    • Gateway (1104-03)

Additionally, DHCP is disabled (1103-01 = 0).

These changes preserve the network settings of the DSX system so the System Administrator connects as before the upgrade.

System Administrator

Port Forwarding Corrupts System Configuration Data

Certain routers (some Belkin and Netgear models) modify the data in the TCP packet containing system configuration settings as follows:
- While reading data from the system, change the system's LAN (local IP) address to be the router's WAN address.
- While writing data to the system, change the router's WAN address to be the system's LAN (local IP) address.

The data in the system configuration data packets is now masked to prevent this from occurring.

Note that this correction also requires System Administrator version 2.01 and higher.

Room Monitor

To enhance room monitor, an extension's Hotline, Call Coverage, or Reverse Voice Over keys will be ON (orange) if the partner extension has Room Monitor enabled. Previously the keys would flash orange.

Additionally, this software version provides many numerous enhancements and corrections.

Message Notification

Notification Inadvertently Sent For Hangups During Greeting

If a caller is routed to an extension that has Message Notification enabled, and the caller hangs up during the greeting, a notification will not be sent. In version 2.01, this problem could cause unnecessary Message Notification callouts.

System Software Version 2.01
Software version 2.01 is the initial Version 2 release.
